Fishing in Baileys Harbor
Baileys Harbor Brown Trout Tournament
This is one of several events sponsored by the Baileys Harbor Community Association to highlight Baileys Harbor and the Door County Peninsula while raising money to support a number of worthwhile charities and groups. The Annual Baileys Harbor Brown Trout Tournament gives testimony to the fact that this is a popular recreational pastime for the whole family. The waters surrounding Door County will be the area where tournament entrants will be testing their skills and luck!
A $25 entry fee entitles participants an opportunity to win generous cash prizes for the top 60 heaviest fish with a grand prize valued at over $1500 to be awarded to the angler with the biggest fish.
Tournament contestants will find that you do not need to own a large boat to fish the many protected harbors and inlets where the big ones lurk. Prize winning fish have been reeled in while fishing dockside.
Many public and private boat launches are available throughout Door County. A launch facility is located only one block away from the contest weigh-in station. Many local businesses are open to serve your needs, providing you with lodging, down home or gourmet cuisine and beverages to quench your thirst. Ticket proceeds go towards prizes and promotion cost.
Our town marina complex is open for the Brown Trout Tournament.
