The Christmas Tree Lighting is an annual get together to share in holiday cheer.  Singing, a visit from Santa, holiday readings, and tantalizing snacks are just a few things you experience at this gathering.

Caroling then leads you out to the town tree for the lighting.

In 2008 we would like to thank donations and volunteering from:  Flanagan Distributing, Purple Feet Wines, Sharon Brungraber, Bill Becker, Laura Egan, Beantown Campgrounds, and Mike Meulemans.

Halloween 2008 "Class Picture"

The annual Halloween Party is sponsored by the Baileys Harbor Community Association.  The event is held at the Town Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Halloween night.

The 2008 Party

The Baileys Harbor Community Association celebrated Halloween by throwing a trick or treat party for the kids on Halloween night. With a very large turn out, winners to the candy guessing contest are Matthew “Elvis”, Janet Schmick, Evan Toerpe, Eliza Godfrey, Ryan Murphy. Winner of the adult prize of a nights stay at Blacksmith Inn was Kevin Nordahl.

The Halloween Gala could not happen, if it wasn’t for the generous donations from the community. The Baileys Harbor Community Association would like to thank Joan Holliday & Bryan Nelson of the Blacksmith Inn, John & Jan Whitney, Marsha Miller, Casey & Scott Williams, Mike Meulemans, Carol Williams, Sandy Weisgerber of Weisgerber’s Cornerstone Pub, Nathan Nichols of Nathan Nichols & Company, Pat and Michelle Palmer of Novel Ideas Bookstore, Alicia Kropuenske of Baileys Grove Campgrounds, and Cameron & Barb Isaacson of 57 Depot.

Equally as important, these generous people took time out of there evening to help make the party a success: Alicia Kropuenske of Baileys Grove Campgrounds, Carol Williams, Barb Anschutz, Judy Steger, Christi Whitney, Marsha Miller, Town of Baileys Harbor Government (Mark Franke & Jeff Kita), Laura Egan, and Mike Meulemans.

4th of July Celebration

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008
July 4, 2009

Baileys Harbor has had the ultimate drawing card for the 4th of July for over a century. A full day of fun and excitement for all includes the parade, arts and crafts, live entertainment, children’s games and, of course, the spectacular fireworks display.

The Parade at 10:00 AM features over 100 entries and usually lasts over an hour. The 2009 parade will feature marching bands, floats, clowns, and genuine down home humor that will delight all.

Get into town early for a good parking spot and bring your lawn chairs. Plenty of local eateries will be on hand to serve up good morning food and beverages.

Look for the Arts and Crafts Fair on the Town Hall Lawn. Close to 100 crafters featuring unique, quality handcrafted items and Door County specialties will be on hand to fill your shopping needs. Baileys Harbor is also host to several antique shops, unique gift shops and specialty stores. Pop over to the business listings in this site to let your mouse do some pre-shopping.

The Downtown will be packed with a variety of food booths, children’s games, and live entertainment stages.

Kendall Park, located behind the Town Hall across from the Marina, is the festival focal point with live entertainment, the brat stand, and beverage tent. Step into the Strawberry Festival inside the Town Hall or pick up some goodies from some of the craft tents.

Face painting, cotton candy and a variety of games will delight the children at the Associated Bank Green Space. Remember to visit the fire station so they get a chance hose down targets in their favorite firefighter’s uniform.

When dinner time approaches, stick close to town, because it won’t be long before the big bang begins. There are a variety of restaurants to suit everyone’s tastes. Whether it be the family style eatery or fine dining, one of Baileys Harbor’s 15 area restaurants offers something for everyone. Click over to restaurant listing to check out the great selection. After dinner, kick back and relax at one of the three area parks. Settle in and get ready for the fire works!

The Town of Baileys Harbor fireworks display has gained a reputation as one of the best in the state. This is a must see treat for all ages. The display is made possible by the generous contributions of community residents, visitors and businesses. If you would like to be included in the fireworks sponsorship, your tax deductible contribution can be sent to BHCA, PO Box 31, Baileys Harbor, WI 54202.

Reserve your hotel, lodging or cabins early. You won’t want to miss out on any of this exciting tribute to our nation.

2009 July 4th Entertainment Announced!

Baileys Harbor is celebrating its 160th anniversary in style for 2009.  Starting at 9 a. m. on July 4th enjoy the sights and sound of “3 Beer ’til Dubuque.”   Three Beers, also known as, “That Beers Band,” started in 1997 with 12 members primarily playing one bar in La Crosse. Today, TBTD has scaled down quite a bit and played a plethora of bars and larger venues. Some of those events include: Oktoberfest and Riverfest, which are La Crosse’s largest festivals, Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI, Oktoberfest in Appleton, WI, and On the Waterfont in Rockford, IL. TBTD has played countless bar gigs and is currently the top musical attraction in the La Crosse area, appealing to the youngest of bar hoppers, to the seasoned jazz veteran and everyone in between.  You definitely want to get a front row seat for this band!

Starting at 1:30 p. m. get your 80’s “rock on.”  “Bad Medicine,” a definite 80’s cover band, is the number 1 Bon Jovi tribute band in the country.  Bad Medicine comes out of the ashes of former group Dandelion Wine.  It was here where singer and leader Greg Jach noticed that a popular segment of the set was a string of Bon Jovi songs.  Seeing a increasing demand and hunger for all things Jovi, and many comments on how Gregs’ style and voice complimented the material, it was decided to go full blown Bon Jovi Tribute! The group still preforms many other hits outside of the tribute set as well. The other songs range from 80’s hair bands to alternative hits to songs that get the dance floor occupied.   A diverse catalog is in place to make sure no matter what your taste in music, Bad Medicine can deliver for you.  They have been playing steadily for the past 5 years playing everywhere from your corner bar to major festivals like Summerfest.   You would definitely think you are at a Bon Jovi concert!  Get your cameras out and rock on!

The entertainment doesn’t end! At 5:30 p.m., enjoy one of the best upcoming D.J.’s in Fox Valley!  Dance and enjoy the sounds as you scope out the best spot to see the fireworks!  This is a 4th of July to remember.

Brown Trout Tournament

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

April 17, 2010
April 18, 2010

This is one of several events sponsored by the Baileys Harbor Community Association to highlight Baileys Harbor and the Door County Peninsula while raising money to support a number of worthwhile charities and groups. The Annual Baileys Harbor Brown Trout Tournament gives testimony to the fact that this is a popular recreational pastime for the whole family. The waters surrounding Door County will be the area where tournament entrants will be testing their skills and luck!

A $25 entry fee entitles participants an opportunity to win generous cash prizes for the top 60 heaviest fish with a grand prize valued at over $1500 to be awarded to the angler with the biggest fish.

Tournament contestants will find that you do not need to own a large boat to fish the many protected harbors and inlets where the big ones lurk. Prize winning fish have been reeled in while fishing dockside.

Many public and private boat launches are available throughout Door County. A launch facility is located only one block away from the contest weigh-in station. Many local businesses are open to serve your needs, providing you with lodging, down home or gourmet cuisine and beverages to quench your thirst. Ticket proceeds go towards prizes and promotion cost.

Our town marina complex is open for the Brown Trout Tournament.
